The 1-12 scale

Every CELPIP skill is reported as a level from 1 to 12. The levels describe how effectively you use everyday English, from basic to advanced, and they map 1:1 to the Canadian Language Benchmarks.

Which level do you need?

For most Express Entry streams the benchmark is CLB 7 (CELPIP 7); CLB 9 (CELPIP 9) is where CRS language points peak. Citizenship via CELPIP General-LS generally needs a lower CLB. Check the exact level for your program.
